震災前の数週間、ジェレミーの日曜礼拝のメッセージはなぜか
「試みにあうとき」だとか「困難を乗り越える」だとか「希望を持つこと」
とか結構ヘビーなタイトルのものが続いてた。
今になって、あ〜そうか！って何度か二人で話してた。
このために準備されてたんだね、って。
でも声を大にしていうけど、この地震に何かの理由をつけるつもりはない。
そんなことしたくない。
神様はこれを通して何を言っているの？？って、そうじゃないって思う。
地震、津波がおこったことは、神様のベストじゃない。
こんなにたくさんの人の命が失われ、家が街が破壊されてしまったことは、神様のベストじゃない。人々が将来を不安に感じることは、神様のベストじゃない。
礼拝の中でも話したけれど、
私たち教会に集められていた一人一人は
このためにここにいるんだって
言っても過言じゃないかもしれない。
私たちみんな、同じく被災者であるかもしれない。
同じことを経験した、っていうことは実はすごく重要なことでもある気がする。
でも、仙台、宮城、岩手、東北、日本に住むたくさんの人たちと同じようにこの震災を経験し、
同じ状況に直面しているけれど、
「大変だけど一緒にがんばりましょう」以上のことを期待していくことができる。
だって、人にはできないことを神様にはできるってことを知っているんだから。
私たちにできることは何かっていったら、それは！！！
この悲惨な状態が神様のベストじゃないってことを知っているからこそ、
祈ってとりなして
神様の天の現実！がこの地で現されるように働いていく
ことができるっていうこと。
でしょう？
希望がないようにみえる状況も
祈って神様に期待するとき、
人の力だけでは絶対無理なことを神様が見せてくださる。
実際に私たちジェンキンズファミリーも今のこの状況で、
神様の恵みがなければ他の誰かどころか自分たちも立ってられない。
助けになる何かをしたい！って強く思っても、
まず自分たちが助けを受ける側だったんだから。
でもだからこそ、神様の恵みの中に力強く立つことができる！
奇跡としるしと不思議を期待していきます。
それによって、本当に神様が私たちを愛してくれてるって知るのだと確信しています。
だって、神様はもっともっとたくさんのものを私たちに与えたい。
神様にしか！できない解決をみていくのだと信じています。
For several weeks before the earthquake, Jeremy had been preaching on things like
"testing and trials", "overcoming difficulties", "having hope" and so on... kind of heavy titled messages.
But then, when all of this happened, we told each other that God really was preparing us for this time.
No, we're not building some doctrine or theology or interpreting why this earthquake happened.
Really not interested in that. Not trying to figure out "Ok God, what are you saying through all of this"??
Because what we know is that THIS is not God's best for our nation.
So many lives lost, homes and towns destroyed, and people fearing their future... that is NOT God's intention. Of course not. It can't be. God is so good and He can't leave us like this.
We shared this yesterday at church too...
but we know that each one of us in our church, we've been gathered together for such a time as this.
THIS, what's happening now IS why we're here. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but no, I really think that.
We have been victims of the disaster, in the sense that we have experienced the same earthquake as everyone around us in the region. And that actually is a important reason why God can use us at this time.
Yes, we have experienced the same earthquake, just like many others in Sendai, Miyagi, Iwate, Tohoku and Japan. We're faced with the same reality, same news, and so on.
But, we can expect so much more than just saying to each other "It's tough but let's endure this".
Because we KNOW that this IS NOT God's best. This is not the end of the story.
We can pray and work to change so GOD'S KINGDOM REALITY can manifest in our region, our whole nation.
Any seemingly hopeless situation can be, when we trust and expect from God, turned around in a way only God can do.
Our family cannot even stand without God's grace.
We say we want to help others, do something,
but first, we had to be on the receiving end of help...
but that is exactly when we can be strong!!
So, WE EXPECT
MIRACLES, MIRACLES, MIRACLES!!!
SIGNS AND WONERS!!! (this is the year of wonders, of many "wow"!)
And it will be so obvious how MUCH God loves us.
He wants to give us so much more!!!
We are going to see God work the impossible, what only He can do!!!
