"... so your life theme is really about IDENTITY isn't it"
Just out of nowhere. I wasn't sure if it was a compliment or just an observation, but it occured to me how obvious our life theme (I don't think it has to be just one mind you) can be to people, probably because we often talk about it or always come back to the same conclusion.
Anyway, it really has been all about identity in this season, again.
We talk about it often, we remind ourselves often, and we see how crucial it is for others to know who they are whatever problem they are faced with...
I think most people wonder and sometimes struggle with knowing who they are or are supposed to be. Usually based on what they do or what they should be doing or what they are going to do. Who am I? What is my life about? What am I supposed to do? What is my dream?
Dream...! That's another big word. Jeremy and I love encouraging people to dream, and Jeremy has always said that he "wanted to cause those without dreams to dream".
Be free! Dream big! ... but then what if you feel like you don't have a specific dream???
So who are we?
It has been a revelation to me, more powerfully than ever recently, that it really isn't WHAT WE DO that defines us. WHAT WE DID doesn't make us or define us either. Nor, WHAT WE ARE GOING TO ACHIEVE. Unless we know who we are, what we do won't ever change the world.
We think we know this, but often, we try and define our identity and immediately our thinking goes back to defining ourselves like this... "I am good at ... " or "I can do ..." or "I cause people to ..." Again, these are all about what we do. If it's not about what we do but who we are... then how are we to think about that?
Jesus came so we can live from who we are.
Do we really know how powerful this is???
God really has created us.
God really loves us and trusts us enough that he made us to represent heaven.
Jesus came so we can have life.
He died to redeem us. Completely.
The work has already been finished. It's all done!
So we can say with confidence that...
We are powerful.
We are complete.
WE ARE... His love, His light, His power, His healing... to this world, right here right now.
So then, what we do or don't do does not change who we are. Not one bit!!!
Because Jesus has really done it! We can't add anything at all to his love he already has for us, or to do work he has done for us.
We are light. That means that wherever we are, we are light just by being there.
It's not even whether we say or do something. We already are light.
I'm not saying that we don't need to do anything then. Quite the opposite.
Once we know who we are, we can do anything and there's nothing to stop us!
Let's be accountable to each other so we really know this and live from that revelation and position.
Accountability will be another topic we will talk about another time...
ちょっと前のことですが、ある人にこんなことを言われました。
「。。。やっぱりあなたたちのテーマはアイデンティティーなんですねぇ」
そのときには、いきなり何がやっぱりなのか、そもそもテーマって？？？って複雑な気持ちだったのを覚えているんだけど、でもその人のライフテーマっていうかライフメッセージみたいなのって、他人から見たらそれぐらいわかりやすいのかもね〜と思いました。（別にひとつに限定しなくてもいいとは思うのですが）結局、同じことをよく話しているのだろうし、また何を話していても同じところにたどり着いているのだろうなぁと。
そんなわけで、とにかく本当にアイデンティティーということは私たちの中で大きな話題なわけです。いつもなんだか話していることだし、いつもそこに戻るようにしているし、他の人のことやいろんな問題とかを考えてみても、アイデンティティーを知っていることがどれほど大切かを確認するのです。
自分が何者なのか、とかどう生きるべきか、とかってほとんどの人が時に悩んだりすることだと思います。だいたい、何をするか、するべきか、これからどうするべきか。。。っていう感じの考え方で。私たちも夢を見ようよ！って励ますのが大好きなんだけど（ジェレミーはいつも「夢のない人たちが夢を見る事ができるようになるように何か手助けしたい」って言ってます）。。。自由に！大胆に（生きよう）！大きく夢を見よう！。。。って言うけど、じゃあ実際に夢なんてないんですけど〜っていう場合にはどうするの？？
でも、最近またまた大きな啓示なのです。今まで以上にパワフルな啓示として実感するのです。それは、私たちが何者かを決めるのは、私たちが何をするかではないってこと。今までに何をしてきたか、経験したか、でもない。そして、これから何を成し遂げるか、でもない。自分が何者かをわかっていなければ、何をしても世界を変えることにはならないのです。それなのに、「自分は何者」って考えるときに、やっぱり「。。。が得意」とか「こんなことができる」とか「人に対して。。。」とか。そういう基準に戻ってしまいがち。何をしているか、に戻ってしまいがちなんですね。
でも。
神様は本当に私を造ったのです。
本当に私を愛しているんです。
こんなスゴい者としてくださるほど愛しているんです。
イエスは私がいのちを得るために来てくださった。
私を購うために死んでくださった。完全に購うために。
そして、全ては本当に完了した。
だから、私はパワフルな存在。
完全とされたもの。
私たちが、神様の愛、光、力、癒し。。。そのものとしてこの世に存在することができる！
今ここで。
このこと。本当にわかっていたら！！
私たちが何をするかしないかは、私たちを変えるものではない。少しもその価値を変えるものではないのです。
だからといって、何もしなくていいよ〜ではないです。
でも、自分が何者かわかったとき、何でもできる！何も私たちを止められない！
お互いに本当の自分として生きられるよう励まし合いたいですね！
その啓示とそのポジションから生きられるように。
